JHU M Square, the University of Maryland Research Park, is a dynamic location for science and technology companies. Adjacent to the University of Maryland, ranked among the nation's top 20 public research universities, and located just 8 miles from the Nation's Capital, the University of Maryland Research Park offers flexible space locations from incubator space for start up companies to build to suit options for larger technology clients in Maryland's largest research park.

The park is served by the Washington Metro Subway and a commuter rail station providing service to both Washington DC and Baltimore, Maryland. The park's location serves to link physically and programmatically university researchers, students and staff with federal laboratories and private sector companies.

Key technology clusters at the park include: homeland and national security (the DOD-funded Center for Advanced Study of Language and the National Foreign Language Center); environmental and earth sciences (the NOAA National Weather and Environmental Prediction Centers) and food safety and food security (the FDA Center for Food Safety, Maryland Center for Food, Nutrition, and Agricultural Policy and the USDA Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service).

Other facilities near the park include the headquarters for the nation's leading physics societies (American Center of Physics) and emerging private technology companies in fields from medical devices to information security.

The park is located in a HUB zone, with a mixed use housing and retails options scheduled for construction at the College Park/University of Maryland Metro station and adjacent to the park.
